In
early 2000, Jean Van de Velte returned to the 18th hole at Carnoustie.
the scene of his disastrous triple bogey that cost him the British
Open.
But this time he played the hole using only his putter while shooting
a television commercial.
"It was a great experience, but it was very cold," he
noted.
Alluding to his attempt to retrieve a splashed ball at the Open,
he added,
"I didn't take my shoes and socks off this time."
